Things that keep me going...

Those who know me well know that I love good quotes-
Here is one of my most recent favorites…

"Destiny is not a matter of change, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."
- William Jennings Bryan
“Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out”
Vaclav Havel

Destiny and hope, hope and destiny…. Here I sit, holding on the the hope that my destiny, future, and desires are all the same thing.  I don't really know anymore. I want to be a midwife, more than ANYTHING. But often, well…especially nowadays… I wonder if that is really my destiny. If I'm really cut out from that cloth. Midwives are strong women. Sometimes I imagine doing something else- but then I think- how COULD I?  Midwifery has been one of my passions since I was young. Do all midwives have the "I can't do this!" moments?
Here's hoping I have what it takes!

  1. I think *everyone* has the "I can't do this" moments! (Remember Moses?!) That's where we're called to step out in faith and allow God to equip us for His calling on our lives.

I had those times as a teacher and I certainly have them with homeschooling and even parenting. But the Lord always comes along and gives just what I need just when I need it to keep going. The hard part is waiting in His timing! Patient I am not!

It's not a bad thing to step back from time and time and ask God to confirm you're on the path He's cut for you. Occasionally you may find He changes the direction. More often I find He gives assurance and confirmation.

Praying He will give you assurance and confirmation of the path He's laid out for you...or gentle, but obvious, direction if He wants something else.

    Love you!
